Terms of service
Last updated May 2026.
These terms govern your use of bootsvault.com (the "Site") and any purchase you make from BootsVault. By using the Site, placing an order, or sending us a message, you agree to these terms.
If you don't agree, please don't use the Site or buy from us.
BootsVault is operated from Adelaide, South Australia. References to "we", "us", or "our" mean BootsVault. References to "you" mean the person using the Site or placing an order.
(01) Who can use this site
You must be at least 16 years old to place an order. If you're under 18, you confirm that you have a parent or guardian's permission to make purchases.
You're responsible for keeping any account credentials secure and for any activity that happens under your account.
(02) Products and listings
We sell vintage, used, and deadstock football boots. Every pair we list is hand-inspected, graded, and photographed by us before being made available.
We make every reasonable effort to describe each pair accurately, including:
- The condition grade (BNIB, A+, A, B, C — defined on our FAQ)
- The release year (original or reissue)
- Sole type, sizing notes, and any imperfections
Photos on listings are of the actual pair you'll receive, not stock images — except where a listing covers multiple sizes, in which case message us for photos of the specific size before ordering.
Stock is real-time but not guaranteed. Many pairs are one-of-one, and in rare cases a pair may be sold or marked unavailable before we can update the listing. If that happens after you've ordered, we'll contact you within 1 business day and refund in full.
(03) Pricing and payment
International orders may incur customs duties, import taxes, and brokerage fees on arrival in the destination country. These are the buyer's responsibility — we don't pre-pay them, and we can't predict what your country will charge.
Payment is processed at checkout via Shopify Payments, Afterpay, or PayPal. By placing an order, you confirm that you're authorised to use the payment method.
If we suspect fraud or any irregularity with a payment, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund without proceeding to ship.
(04) When the contract forms
Placing an order is an offer to buy. The order isn't accepted until we send a dispatch confirmation by email. Up until that point, we can decline or cancel the order for any reason, including:
- Stock that turns out to be unavailable
- Suspected fraud
- An obvious pricing error
- Anything else that means we can't reasonably fulfil the order
If we cancel, you'll receive a full refund within 5 business days.
(05) Shipping
Shipping terms — including dispatch times, delivery windows, and what happens if a package is lost or damaged — are covered in our Shipping & Returns Policy.
Risk of loss passes to you on delivery to the address you provided. If you enter the wrong address, we can't be held responsible for a misdelivered parcel, though we'll always try to help recover it.
(06) Returns, refunds, and authenticity
These are covered in full in our Return & Refund Policy. The headlines:
- 7-day exchange on unworn pairs that don't fit
- Full refund if a pair arrives not as described
- No refunds for change of mind, given our rare inventory
- 3× money back if a pair is ever proven inauthentic by a recognised third-party authenticator
- Once worn, the pair is yours — we don't take responsibility for structural failure after wear, given the inherent risks of vintage footwear
(07) BOOTSVAULTiD personalisation
Our BOOTSVAULTiD service produces a custom-cut decal personalised to your order details. Because each iD is made to order:
- Once production starts, the order can't be cancelled or changed. If you spot a typo, email us within 30 minutes of ordering and we'll do our best to catch it.
- Custom iDs are non-refundable unless the product is defective on arrival.
- The match-wear guarantee for BOOTSVAULTiD is set out on the product page and FAQ. Damage caused by incorrect application (dirty, wet, or unsuitable surfaces) is not covered.
(08) Selling boots to us
If you offer us a pair to buy, you confirm that:
- You're the legal owner and have the right to sell
- The pair is genuine, to the best of your knowledge
- The condition matches the photos and description you've sent
We're under no obligation to buy any pair offered to us. If we make an offer, it's valid for 7 days and conditional on receiving the pair and verifying it matches what was described. If it doesn't match, we may revise or withdraw the offer and return the pair at our cost.
(09) Sourcing service
If we agree to source a specific pair for you, the arrangement is non-binding until we present an actual pair for purchase. Any deposit paid is refundable if we fail to source the pair within the agreed window, or if what we find doesn't meet your stated criteria.
(10) Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including our photography, written descriptions, condition reports, the BootsVault logo, and the BOOTSVAULTiD name — is owned by us or our licensors.
You may save listing photos for personal reference. You may not:
- Republish our content on other sites, marketplaces, or social platforms without written permission
- Use our images in your own listings (including on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and similar)
- Scrape the Site, programmatically download our catalogue, or use any automated means to harvest data
(11) User content
If you send us photos, messages, reviews, or any other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content for the purposes of running the business — for example, answering your query, processing your order, or sharing a tagged customer photo on our social channels.
You confirm that any content you send is yours to share and doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
(12) Acceptable use
When you use the Site, you agree not to:
- Place orders with the intent to defraud or chargeback
- Use stolen payment details
- Impersonate anyone else
- Interfere with the Site's security or operation
- Resell our pairs in a way that misrepresents their origin (for example, claiming a pair we authenticated was authenticated by a third party)
- Use our content or images to facilitate the sale of counterfeit goods
(13) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the affected order
- We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses (lost matches, lost earnings, emotional distress, and similar)
- We're not liable for failures caused by events outside our reasonable control — postal disruptions, courier strikes, severe weather, customs delays, and similar
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (or equivalent law in your country) that can't be lawfully excluded.
(14) Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Site, or any content you send us that infringes someone else's rights.
(15) Termination
We can suspend or close your account, or refuse to fulfil orders, if we reasonably believe you've breached these terms or attempted to defraud us. Any orders already paid for at the point of termination will be either fulfilled or refunded in full at our discretion.
(16) Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on the Site. The terms in effect when you placed your order are the terms that apply to that order.
(17) Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia. Any dispute will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.
If you've got a complaint, please email us first — most things can be sorted out in a day or two without going further.
(18) Contact
