Refund policy
Last updated May 2026.
This policy covers every order placed through bootsvault.com. By placing an order, you agree to the terms below.
For anything not covered here, message us — we reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.
(01) If your boots don't fit
Unworn pairs can be exchanged within 7 days of delivery.
Email us with your order number and we'll arrange the return. Once the pair lands back with us in the condition it left in, we'll either swap it for the right size in another pair, or issue store credit for the full amount paid. Outbound shipping costs are non-refundable, and the buyer covers return postage.
A pair counts as worn the moment it touches grass, gym floor, footpath, or anything other than carpet while you try them on for fit. Once worn, the exchange window closes.
(02) If a pair arrives not as described
If what you receive doesn't match the listing — wrong size shipped, condition materially different, damage in transit, anything we've got wrong — message us within 7 days of delivery with photos.
We'll arrange a prepaid return label and issue a full refund as soon as the pair is back with us, including the original shipping cost. No friction. No restocking fee.
(03) Change of mind
We don't refund for change of mind. Our inventory is rare, often one-of-one, and sales are final once completed.
(04) Once worn, the pair is yours
Please read this section carefully before you buy.
Vintage and used football boots carry inherent risk. Midsoles can degrade through hydrolysis. Sole adhesives can fail. Stitching can weaken — sometimes gradually, sometimes suddenly. This is the honest reality of buying boots that are often 10, 15 or 20+ years old.
Every pair we list goes through a sole-flex test and adhesive inspection before it's photographed. We do our absolute best to provide you with as much information as we can before you make a purhcase.
Once you've worn a pair, we no longer take responsibility for structural failure.
That includes, but isn't limited to:
- Sole separation or delamination
- Midsole crumbling or compression
- Stud breakage or stud-housing failure
- Stitching failure or upper splits
- Lining tears or insole degradation
- Any other wear-related damage
This applies whether the pair fails after one match or one hundred. Once they've been used for their intended purpose, the structural risk transfers to you.
If you want a pair that's guaranteed to survive every match indefinitely, buy new boots from a current range. Vintage isn't that, and we won't pretend otherwise.
(05) Authenticity guarantee
If a pair you buy from us is ever proven inauthentic by a recognised third-party authenticator, we refund you 3× the amount you paid. No time limit. The guarantee applies for as long as you own the pair.
We've shipped 1000+ pairs to 25+ countries, and the guarantee has never been claimed. We back our authentication process with money because we're confident in it.
(06) How to start a return
Email contact@bootsvault.com within 7 days of delivery with:
- Your order number
- The reason for return (fit / not as described / other)
- Photos, if the pair arrived not as described
We'll reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, and walk you through the next steps. Don't ship a pair back without contacting us first — unauthorised returns can't be processed.
(07) Your consumer rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or equivalent consumer protection laws in your country. If a product is faulty, not fit for purpose, or significantly different from its description at the point of sale, you may be entitled to a remedy beyond what's offered above.
The "once worn, the pair is yours" clause in Section 04 reflects the inherent and disclosed risks of buying vintage and pre-owned footwear. It does not override your statutory rights in the event of a genuine defect that was present before sale and not reasonably disclosed.
